Once the purview of farmers and tradesmen, pickup trucks are now a popular transport mode for the typical suburban family. The advent of crewcab body styles, better driving performance, greater refinement and the proliferation of luxury features, has resulted in a wide acceptance of pickup trucks as daily drivers for non-commercial users. Significantly higher gasoline prices may deflate the enthusiasm for pickups for non-commercial users.
